What are the cup sizes in millilitres?

Each piece is engraved with both the cup measure and its millilitre equivalent, so you can read the conversion straight off the handle without looking anything up. The 1 cup measure is marked 250ml, and the smaller cups step down from there. Are they safe to use with food?
